The James Morrow House is a historic farmhouse that was built in the late 1860s by James Morrow, an Irish immigrant who owned a store in Wilmington. The locally significant building has unusual architecture that features both a gambrel roof and raised basement. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. (see Wikipedia)
In 2008, the house was moved 300 feet to the west to clear space for CarMax development. Landmark Science & Engineering provided all planning, site design, through construction-phase certified construction review services for the Reybold Group, owner/developer of the Newark Commons development.
