Dakota Laidman-Murray is a registered professional engineer in Delaware and Maryland. She is a principal of the firm and manages the Maryland branch. She performs civil engineering and project management for large-scale educational, industrial and affordable housing projects involving planning and site design, stormwater management, environmental and water resources design.
Dakota applies her background in environmental engineering and water resources and water quality to lead Landmark’s Water Resources department. Her specialty is in hydraulics and hydrologic analysis and flood studies, and she has technical design expertise in stormwater management design of best management practices, grading, erosion and sediment control, and preparing entrance plans for approval by DelDOT.
Mrs. Laidman-Murray earned a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (bEnvEng) degree with a concentration in Water Resources and Water Quality and a minor in Civil Engineering at the University of Delaware (Cum Laude). She was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and was awarded the Hagerty Environmental Undergraduate Award for demonstrating outstanding professional and research potential in Environmental Engineering.
Dakota is an active member with American Council of Engineering Companies of Delaware (ACEC-DE), serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors, and Chairs the Programs and Education Committee which awards engineering scholarships and helps promote engineering as a career choice. She has provided mentoring to high school students in the Appoquinimink School District’s engineering pathways program. Dakota and her husband, James, reside in Newark, Delaware where they are raising their daughter. James is an electrical engineer with Siemens and a proud Tesla EV owner.
