AASF Helicopter Hangar Expansion

Landmark was retained by the project architect to provide civil engineering services required for a renovation and expansion of the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) for the Delaware Army National Guard. The DEARNG’s Black Hawk helicopter maintenance and hangar facilities are located at the New Castle County Airport in New Castle, Delaware. The project included a new one- and two-story, 43,522 square foot maintenance hangar, expansion of an existing hangar with three additions for entrances, break room, and a 2,375 square foot retaining-walled patio area, and a new 35,533 square foot, one-story, aircraft cold-storage facility.

Landmark performed planning, civil engineering site design, stormwater management facilities, land surveying, agency processing, and construction-phase services. Stormwater management BMPs included a StormTech® system with 1,098  subsurface chambers for quantity and quality control.
