Bunker Hill Elementary School
Appoquinimink School District’s Bunker Hill Elementary School is a new 85,000 square foot facility with parking lot and access road, occupying 18 acres of a 214-acre site that it shares with the Appoquinimink High School. Site sensitive design was called for due to the construction of the US 301 bypass which is located on the site. The parking lot was designed to provide safe and innovative bus parking and passenger drop off/pick up area for pedestrian safety. The school was pleased to offer its students an outdoor amphitheater (with fire lane access for safety), a state-of-the-art Environmental Training building, and two playgrounds adjacent to the school building. A pole-barn style maintenance building was also constructed on site.
Landmark performed all planning, civil engineering, site design, stormwater management BMPs, erosion and sediment control, agency processing and construction-phase support services for the project.
