Calvert Regional Park
Cecil County’s new Calvert Park is a 112-acre park located at 211 Brick Meetinghouse Road in North East, Maryland. The public facility is being developed as a regional, passive-active, sports destination park that will offer a broad array of recreational uses. Park amenities will include athletic fields, walking trails, basketball and tennis courts as well as a future splash park, dog park, and storage and concessions stand buildings in Phases II or III.
Landmark led a multidisciplinary design team for the master concept planning for the phased development of the park. Scope of work included master concept planning, topographic surveys, environmental site assessment, forest conservation plan, Bog Turtle phase I investigations, wetlands delineation, site engineering design for the development of athletic fields, trails and parking areas. Site engineering and construction plans for Phase I included grading, stormwater management, road design, erosion and sediment control, agency approvals and permitting, and trip generation studies. Team members provided an economic development study to evaluate the potential as a sports destination park, landscape design, geotechnical, and traffic analysis.
