Delaware Tech – Sustainable Energy

Delaware Tech – Sustainable Energy

The new Sustainable Energy Training Center (SETC) at Delaware Technical Community College in Newark, Delaware  is a 6,000 square foot addition (G-Wing) that connects to the Automotive (F-Wing) building at Stanton Campus. The SETC was designed to be energy efficient and achieved USGBC LEED Gold certification. There are many green design aspects for the building including eco-bond pavers which meet LEED refractive requirements, stormwater BMP green technologies such as rooftop rain harvesting from a roof leader and stormwater bioretention basin and filter strip. A large portion of the building is within a paved parking lot, and recycled materials were used for new pavement.

Services Provided

Landmark provided preliminary project assistance to the institution by performing an environmental assessment to meet all NEPA standards for federal grant funding, and also worked as part of a multidisciplinary design team, led by the architect, to provide all wetlands, forestation, planning, civil engineering, site design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, water and sanitary, and agency processings. Construction-phase support services included construction administration, certified construction review, and stormwater management as-built survey.
