Middletown High Sports Complex

Landmark was selected by the owner to provide planning, surveying and site design for construction of new athletic fields including a new track, multipurpose soccer and football field, softball field, varsity and practice baseball fields, bleachers, six tennis courts, and a walking trail for use by Appoquinimink School District’s Middletown High School.

As part of an athletic facilities expansion, Landmark was also selected to design modifications to relocate the school’s main entrance on E. Main Street (SR 299) in the Town of Middletown, improve pedestrian safety for students crossing SR 299 and provide parking lot and traffic flow improvements for safety and access to the new athletic facilities and school.

The project addressed pedestrian safety at the school. A crossing plan was prepared for DelDOT to construct pedestrian signals and crossings on SR 299. The main entrance was relocated and a roadway widening project added a 275 L.F. deceleration lane for right turn into the school’s entrance drive.
