Fenwick Island Ped. Improvements
The Town of Fenwick Island considered adding sidewalks along Route 1 to improve pedestrian safety in their high-traffic, beachside town. Landmark was retained to conduct a pedestrian improvement study and, the following year, to prepare a concept plan for a town-wide sidewalk improvement project. Design included sidewalks, curbs, entrance, handicap ramps, rain gardens, and parking. As a retrofit project, Landmark coordinated with the Delaware Department of Transportation’s accessibility group for review and approval of the project for ADA compliance.
Landmark participated in a public meeting to present the concept plan and answer questions.
The Town Hall Sidewalk Project pilot program was approved. Landmark’s staff prepared construction documents and assisted with bidding. The construction was successfully completed early in 2014.
